II.3) SHORT DESCRIPTION OF NATURE AND QUANTITY OR VALUE OF SUPPLIES OR
SERVICES: Bradford MDC is seeking an organisation, with demonstrable
experience and skills in community development, local networking,
facilitation and working with individuals from all sectors of the
community and a wide range of provider groups to become the 'Host' of the
LINK in Bradford. The 'Host' will be responsible for the establishment,
diversity of membership and supporting the ongoing day-to-day activities
of the LINK to carry out the following activities:
(1) promoting and supporting the involvement of people in the
commissioning, provision and scrutiny of local health and social care
services;
(2) obtaining the views of people about their needs for, and their
experiences of, local health and social care services;
(3) enabling people to monitor and review the commissioning and provision
of care services; and
(4) making their views known to the people responsible for commissioning,
providing, managing and scrutinising those services. The contract will
initially run for 3 years; there will then be the opportunity for the
council to extend the contract by a further 2 1-year periods subject to
continued funding and a satisfactory contractor performance. The estimated
cost given below is for the first 3 years. Please note: tenders will be
considered from partnerships/consortiums as well as from single bodies.
Estimated cost excluding VAT: 510 000 GBP.
