II.3) SHORT DESCRIPTION OF NATURE AND QUANTITY OR VALUE OF SUPPLIES OR
SERVICES: The Council is seeking an organisation to be a Host for
Derbyshire's Local Involvement Network (LINk) that has experience of
community engagement, involvement and networking and has links to a wide
range of organisations and communities. The Host will be responsible for
setting up the LINk and then supporting and managing the LINk during the
contract period. The LINk will undertake the following activities:
- promoting and supporting the involvement of people in commissioning,
provision and scrutiny of local health and social care services;
- enabling people to monitor and review the commissioning and provision of
care services;
- obtaining views of people about their needs for, and their experiences
of, local health and social care services;
- making their views known to those responsible for commissioning,
providing, managing and scrutinising services.
The Host may be a single organisation, partnership or consortium. The LINk
will have its own governance structures and decision making processes.
However, it will work closely with the Council's Healthier Communities
Improvement and Scrutiny Committee by focusing on issues of concern to the
local community.
