single operator.
II.1.5) Short description of the contract or purchase(s): The Corrib
natural gas field is being developed as a subsea tie back to an onshore
processing facility. The gas will be piped ashore from the offshore wells
to the gas processing terminal at Bellanaboy Bridge, Co. Mayo, West of
Ireland, where it will be processed before it enters the Bord Gáis Éireann
national network. The field will provide up to 60 % of Irelands gas needs
at peak supply. Shell E&P Ireland Ltd ('Shell'), as the operator of the
Corrib Gas Terminal will require process speciality chemicals, methanol,
odourant, utility chemicals and water treatment chemicals throughout the
operational phase of the terminal. Shell will also require production
chemicals support services throughout the operational phase of the
terminal including but not limited to the: 1) Provision of laboratory
and/or field testing capability for the specified chemical applications;
2) Provision of personnel for chemical supply and stock management,
verification of chemical performance and optimisation of chemical
application and legislative reporting; 3) Provision of personnel for
support of commissioning and start-up operations in respect of chemical
applications, which will include the preparation of chemical application
management documentation; 4) Management of 3rd party speciality chemicals
recommended by the water treatment process vendor and recommendation of
alternative products; and 5) Provision of temporary chemical injection
facilities.
