Council is seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified,
experienced organisations wishing to tender for the provision of a Host
Organisation for a LINk. LINks will take over from the present patient and
public involvement mechanisms in April 2008. The roles of LINks will
include: Promoting and supporting the involvement of people in the
commissioning, provision and scrutiny of local health and social care
services, Obtaining the views of people about their need for, and
experiences of, local health and social care services, Enabling people to
monitor and review the commissioning and provision of care services,
Raising the concerns of local people with those responsible for
commissioning, providing, managing and scrutinising services, Making
contacts with existing voluntary and community sector and user led groups
to encourage participation from hard-to-reach/under-represented groups and
communities. The purpose of a host organisation is to enable, support and
facilitate the LINk in its activities. The Contractor shall be required to
operate within the boundaries of Swindon Borough Council. Administrative
healthcare services. Health and social work services. Health services.
Community health services. This is a grant funded contract, with the
actual grant being published by the Department of Health by the end of
December 2007. It is anticipated that the grant will be in the region of
GBP 100 000 to GBP 125 000 per annum.
