an innovative digital TV channel and broadband Internet service, designed
to help support the people who work in schools in England. The channel's
programming provides training, information and classroom resources for
head teachers, teachers, governors, teaching assistants, trainee teachers
and school support staff. In its first 2 years in operation, Teachers TV
has quickly proved itself a genuinely innovative way to raise educational
standards. Building on the excellent work of the initial contract, we now
intend to re-tender the contract for delivery of Teachers TV. We will be
looking for a supplier or consortium with the vision to make the most of
the developments in the digital landscape, to deliver a service that is
able to make a real impact on raising standards in schools. The supplier
will be responsible for all aspects of the delivery and marketing of the
service including acquisition and commissioning of programmes, scheduling,
presentation and playout of the channel, design, filling, scheduling and
refreshing of video-on-demand services, design, operation and maintenance
of the web site, advertising sales and programme rights sales. United
