II.1.5) Short description of the contract or purchase(s): Suffolk County
Council is seeking expressions of interest from organisations interested
in being host to the Suffolk Local Involvement Network (LINk), as
implemented by the Local Government and Public Involvement Act 2007. LINks
will be a key part of enabling effective citizen engagement in health and
social care services. The host organisation will be responsible for
establishing and supporting the Suffolk LINk. LINk activities will
include: Promoting and supporting the involvement of Suffolk people in the
commissioning, provision and scrutiny of health and social care services.
Obtaining the views of Suffolk people about their needs for, and
experiences of health and social care services and making these known to
those responsible for commissioning, providing, managing those services
Enabling people to monitor and review the commissioning and provision of
care services Making reports and recommendations about how health and
social care services could be improved. Organisations expressing interest
will be issued with the tender documentation. Organisations will be
required to demonstrate experience of community engagement across all
groups and communities, together with knowledge of local health and social
