SECTION II: OBJECT OF THE CONTRACT
II.1) DESCRIPTION

Design and execution.

II.1.3) The notice involves: A public contract.
II.1.5) Short description of the contract or purchase(s): The Contract
comprises the design, procurement, construction and commissioning of
interceptor tunnels, pumping station, pumping mains and associated works
to resolve problems of unsatisfactory discharges (UIDs) from a number of
outlets on the wastewater network in Preston.
The works are expected to include the following:
Note: The following including lengths and diameters are indicative.
— 500m of 1.5m internal diameter connecting tunnel,
— 1.25km of 2.85m internal diameter interceptor tunnel,
— 2.18 km of 2.85m internal diameter stormwater storage tunnel,
— 850m of 2.85 m internal diameter tunnelled river crossing for pumping
main,
— A pumping station including screen chamber & overflow to river,
— 5.75 km of 1.0m internal diameter twin pumping mains,
— 14 shafts circa 28m deep between 4m and 10.5m internal diameter,
— Associated ancillary & accommodation works.

commissioning of the works described in II.1.5.

III.1) CONDITIONS RELATING TO THE CONTRACT

reserves the right to require Deposits, Performance Bond, Parent Company
Guarantee or other forms of appropriate security.
