INVITATION TO TENDER
1. BACKGROUND PNG Sustainable Development Program Limited (PNGSDP) has
programmed the Togarao Hydroelectric Project for development under its
rural electrification initiatives for Papua New Guinea. PNGSDP has
appointed PNG Sustainable Energy Limited (PNGSEL) to manage PNGSDP's rural
energy projects, including Togarao Hydroelectric Project.
PNGSDP is a development agency and one of the joint owners (with the PNG
Government and Inmet Mining Limited of Canada) of the Ok Tedi Mining
Limited. PNGSDP's mission and mandate is to promote sustainable
development within, and advance the general welfare of the people of Papua
New Guinea, particularly those of the Western Province.This mission and
mandate is realised through supporting programs and projects in the areas
of economic development, infrastructure, capacity building, health,
education, and community self-reliance. Consistent with its mandate,
PNGSDP is providing funding for the development of the Togarao
Hydroelectric Project in Central Bougainville of the Autonomous Region of
Bougainville, Papua New Guinea.
PNGSEL is a company incorporated and domiciled in Papua New Guinea and is
equally owned by PNGSDP and the Snowy Mountains Engineering Corporation
(SMEC). PNGSEL's principal activity is to participate in the energy and
electricity industry in Papua New Guinea.
PNGSEL is seeking bidders to submit proposals to undertake different
elements of the Togarao Hydroelectric Project, namely civil works,
electro-mechanical plant and power distribution.
Tender P3140T-E&M-003 calls for bids from interested electrical and
mechanical contractors to undertake the design, manufacture, supply,
install, test and commissioning of the electrical and mechanical works for
the Togarao Hydroelectric Project.
In this regard, PNGSEL invites firms and organizations interested in
participating in Tender P3140T-E&M-003for the design, manufacture, supply
and installation and commissioning of the electrical & mechanical
component of the Togarao Hydroelectric Project to register and
participate. The best conforming bidder will be selected to carry out the
electrical and mechanical works of the Togarao Hydroelectric.
2. APPLICATION AND PURCHASE OF TENDER DOCUMENTS Firms and organizations
interested in participating in this Tender should collect the Tender
Documents from PNGSEL at the address below. Complete sets of Tender
Documents, will be supplied to each Tenderer at a cost of USD$ 200,00 or
PGK 600,00 per set, which amount(s) will not be refunded.
