II.1.5) Short description of the contract or purchase(s): ITT is seeking
tenders for the supply of laboratory equipment in 36 categories, as set
out in the Tender Document. Predominantly, the equipment sought is to
furnish a renovated microbiology research laboratory and will support a
number of research projects involving microbiology, molecular biology and
some molecular characterisation studies.
Tenderers are invited to submit proposals for the supply of one or more of
the items specified. Admission to the framework agreement and award of the
initial contract(s) will be on the basis of the published award criteria.
ITT would like to acknowledge the funding provided by the Higher Education
Authority for these purchases under its RFES (Research Facilities
Enhancement Scheme) 2008.

laboratory equipment to IT Tallaght to furnish a renovated microbiology

studies.

SECTION VI: COMPLEMENTARY INFORMATION
VI.3) ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: IT Tallaght is using the open procedure for
this procurement, which means that any interested party may download the
tender document from www.etenders.gov.ie and submit a tender for all or
part of the specified requirements.
Tenders will be assessed according to the eligibility and award criteria
set out in the tender document. Admission to the framework agreement and
award of contracts will be on the basis of most economically advantageous
valid and responsive tender received for each item of equipment specified.
A minimum of three suppliers will be admitted to the framework agreement,
provided a sufficient number of suitably qualified tenderers are
available. Admission to the framework agreement will be conditional upon
the successful tenderers agreeing to ITT's terms and conditions and upon
the production of a valid tax clearance certificate from the Irish Revenue
Commissioners. Admission to the framework and award of any contract(s)
will also be conditional upon the approval of the competent authorities.
All clarifications in relation to this tender competition will be issued
via www.etenders.gov.ie only; all parties must therefore be registered on
the Irish government website and download the tender document from the
site.
ITT reserves the right to award contract(s) to multiple suppliers on foot
of this tender process. It may elect not to award any contract or to
terminate the process at any stage. ITT may seek clarification from
tenderers regarding aspects of their tenders or request demonstration and
or/presentation of proposed solutions prior to final decision. ITT will
not be responsible for any costs, charges or expenses incurred by
tenderers as part of this tender process.
Tenderers should note that ITT is subject to the Freedom of Information
Acts as amended. Tenderers should indicate whether any of the information
submitted by them is commercially sensitive in nature and should be
treated as confidential. If an FOI request is received, ITT will examine
any such information in light of the exemptions provided for under the FOI
Acts.
