II.1) DESCRIPTION

II.1.5) Short description of the contract or purchase(s): Oxford City
Council is proposing to carry out a large number of play area
refurbishment works over the next few years.
The programme of work will involve up to 25 play areas per year across the
City being completely refurbished. The Council is looking to award the
contract for 3 years with the opportunity to extend for a further 2 years
at the Councils discretion.
To enable this high profile project to be completed on time and within
budget, the Council is seeking to award this contract to a single
supplier.
The supplier must be experienced in the project management of play area
refurbishment and have expertise to be able to advise and oversee the
design, landscaping and possible installation of equipment, of a wide
range of traditional and innovative play areas. The supplier may also be
required to co-ordinate play area inspections and any ongoing maintenance
that may be required.
The play areas will be designed to meet the needs of the local communities
that they serve, therefore it is envisaged that the supplier will also be
involved in consultation exercises with stakeholders.
Please note that this contract will also be made available to other Local
Authorities, Public Bodies and the Community and Voluntary Sector within
Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes.
