of the contract is the development, supply, testing and integration of the
complete back office and associated interfaces for the smartcard
Integrated Ticketing Scheme (ITS) for public transport in Ireland and
additional services as required.
The back office comprises:
Scheme Monitor: responsible for the maintenance and distribution of the
configuration parameters (including security keys which implement the
rules for participation in the Scheme).
Issuer: responsible for the management of the accounts relating to the
cards, the ITS application and the ITS products (tickets) issued to
cardholders.
Clearing House: responsible for clearing and financial settlement between
Scheme participants, fee and commission management, and claim management.
Associated disaster recovery capabilities for these entities.
Associated interfaces are required for:
Smartcard sales/reload network,
Smartcard initialisation/personalisation bureau,
Existing headquarters computer systems of public transport operators.
